‘The country has rebuked you!’ Hecklers harangue Trump family

President Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., was scathingly heckled while going to Emory Law School on the Wednesday after his Republican Party suffered historic losses in the 2026 midterm elections.
"This country has rebuked you!" protesters shouted at the president's son as he walked on the Georgia university campus, according to a video captured by TMZ. They also shouted, "We won the House and the Senate!"
Trump Jr. is particularly controversial because of how he has capitalized on his connection to his father to personally profit. In June, he invested in tungsten mines in Kazakhstan that would allow him to cash in on a deal worth $1.6 billion.
“Around the same time, Cantor Fitzgerald, an investment company controlled by Mr. Lutnick’s family and overseen by his sons Brandon and Kyle Lutnick, helped one of the lead investors working with Dominari on the Kazakh deal raise $210 million in new capital for a related entity,” The New York Times wrote at the time. “Such rounds of fund-raising typically net Cantor millions of dollars in fees.”
It added, “The Kazakh deal was ultimately signed on Nov. 6, six days after the investment involving the Trump sons and their partners, which was not publicly disclosed at the time. The arrangement is hardly an outlier. One or both families have financial ties to at least 14 companies that are actively working with the federal government on critical mining deals, including the Kazakhstan project, according to federal filings examined by The New York Times.”
Despite his controversies and lack of political experience, Trump Jr. may be the Republican presidential nominee in 2028. Conservative commentator Bill Kristol speculated last month that Trump would prefer his son to succeed him over Secretary of State Marco Rubio or Vice President JD Vance (who are more popular among primary voters) because it will allow him to continue making money.
“Who can he be sure will sustain the grift and not go after him and all of his allies?" Kristol wrote. "It’s not just Trump now. We’re now dealing with hundreds, maybe thousands of people in this administration who are unbelievably determined to keep power in 2028. That’s why the election subversion stuff is so serious. Somewhat serious in 2026 but mostly serious as a predicate for ‘28. And who would actually take power?"
He added, "They can’t let the Democrats win, and they don’t trust anyone much outside their own circle to keep it going. Put those two things together, and the idea that we’re going to have a normal ‘democratic’ republican primary is ridiculous. Trump is going to have massive thumbs on the scale.”
