President Donald Trump’s nephew is warning that his uncle will throw a major tantrum and blame those closest to him as he reels from the fallout of the 2026 midterm elections. Fred Trump III, 63, has been openly critical of his uncle and other members of their family, alleging the family is riddled with obsession with power, control, and all for self-serving reasons. He detailed his issues with his family in a 2024 memoir, All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way, which explained his family’s rise in real estate and politics, as well as their alleged dysfunction. Now Fred III warns White House staffers will bear the brunt of his uncle’s rage.
“Take it from me folks, cause I have been there,” he wrote on X. “I pity the poor b—— near my uncle tonight.” Fred also hashtagged the post “democracy” and tagged Trump’s former communications director, Anthony Scaramucci. Scaramucci lasted just 11 days in the role. His firing came amid ongoing conflict, public outbursts and a direct clash with Trump.
In a historic feat, Democrats took control of both chambers of Congress in the midterm elections, setting in stone what can become Trump’s political takedown. Fred’s rant didn’t stop. He also mentioned that his father, Donald Trump’s uncle Fred Trump Jr., taught him to be everything the president is not.
“As I take all of this in, I think of my parents and how they taught me to be an empathetic and caring young man. My dad, the original ‘good Trump’, who passed too early, would, by example, root and fight for the underdog, those who needed a little push to realize a better and meaningful life,” he wrote. "This is the kind of country we need. In his memory, I will do my best to lead us in that direction. Let’s do it together.”
The family rift reportedly began when Fred Trump Jr., the eldest son of real estate developer Fred Trump Sr., and his father became estranged, with Fred Jr. choosing to become an airline pilot rather than join the family property business. Donald stepped in as the one to save the family business and name. Fred Jr.’s career choice was reportedly always frowned upon.
In his book, Fred III says his uncle Donald advised him to stop caring for his nonverbal and wheelchair bound son, telling him to "just let him die" due to the cost of care. The president has denied the claims, along with other claims in the book, calling the allegations "completely fabricated" and "total fake news of the highest order," though Fred maintains that they're "real stories."
