'Not your father's Republican Party': Biden torches MAGA Republicans during DNC reception

President Joe Biden recently took aim at MAGA Republicans who are making a steep effort to unravel the progress made across the country during his time in office.
According to Fox News, Biden's remarks were part of his speech delivered during the Democratic National Committee's reception on Friday, April 29.
During the speech, the president highlighted his presidential accomplishments including his signing of the American Rescue Plan, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, and pieces of legislation for gun reform and bipartisan infrastructure. He also highlighted his historic appointment of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Kentanji Brown Jackson.
He went on to warn about MAGA Republicans and their efforts to obstruct progress as he encouraged Democrats not to allow such action.
"MAGA Republicans are trying to take us backwards," Biden said. "But together, we’re not going to let them do it. Not an inch back. Instead, our agenda is going to continue to bring us forward and build on the progress we made. And we must finish this job."
The president encouraged his party to continue its efforts to move the country forward as he highlighted a number of key initiatives that should be prioritized.
"Let's keep growing the economy from the middle out and the bottom up," he continued. "Let's protect a woman's right to choose and codify Roe v. Wade."
Biden added, Let's protect our children from gun violence by continuing to work to eliminate assault weapons. And let’s keep lowering the prescription drug cost not just for those on Medicare, but for all Americans."
"There's so much we can do, and we can contribute so much to the country right now," the president later said. "And it's because of you I'm standing here, and it's going to be because of you we win this next time around."
The president's latest remarks came just days after he officially announced his intention to run for re-election.
