Just days after a dramatic White House press war culminated in the launch of his own 24/7 state-run broadcasting network, the project has completely tanked.
According to viewership data, the newly minted "Trump TV: The Essentials Station" is generating numbers so catastrophically low that it is being soundly outperformed on YouTube by a literal black screen, according to the Daily Beast.
The disaster began unfolding after Trump abruptly banned journalists from CNN, MSNOW, and PoliticoPolitico from the White House press room. In an unprecedented display of industry solidarity, America’s major traditional news networks—including NBC, ABC, CBS, and even Fox News—responded by completely suspending their shared pooled television coverage of the president. Left without an automatic pipeline to the evening news, a panicked White House rapidly threw together a replacement: a 24-hour YouTube livestream designed to blast Trump’s greatest hits and curated administration victories straight to the public.
