'Fetch': Stephen Colbert relentlessly mocks McCarthy with breakdown of the most ridiculous new House rules

Stephen Colbert recently weighed in on the new rules passed by Republican lawmakers as they take over the House of Representatives.
On the January 10 segment of "The Late Show," Colbert noted the rules were passed by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in hopes of winning over far-right Republican lawmakers who repeatedly rejected his bid for speaker.
At one point during the segment, Colbert also highlighted four of the most important rules, which according to HuffPost, he likened to "basic dog commands."
The late-night host took a crack at the rules saying, “Sit, down boy, stay, and fetch Hunter Biden’s Laptop."
Although Republican lawmakers did pass a series of other rules, those initiatives are not being disclosed to the public. Colbert went on to discuss the secret rules, which he insists are similar to the Ten Commandments.
“We all know the best rules are secret,” he said. “Reminds me of the Ten Commandments: ’Thou shalt not... wouldn’t you like to know!’”
Colbert's remarks come just days after the ongoing political sparring match between House Republican lawmakers. After 15 rounds of ballots, McCarthy finally managed to prevail in becoming speaker of the House.
