First Lady Melania Trump has aroused considerable controversy during President Donald Trump's second term, from releasing a self-titled documentary to delivering an impromptu speech dissembling about her friendship with the late child sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein. Now a new report indicates that the First Lady may have been targeted for a violent crime by a stalker whose creepy alleged actions included having a copy of her schedule.
"A deranged man busted with a gun at President Trump’s golf club allegedly amassed a chilling trove of hundreds of pages on Secret Service agents, golf course sketches and copies of the first lady’s daily schedule," reported The New York Post's David Thompson on Wednesday in an exclusive for that paper.
Thompson continued, "Jeanine John Taele, 38, a decorated Marine veteran from Downey, appeared before Judge John Lonergan in Los Angeles Wednesday. Taele was scruffy and dressed in a suicide smock for the preliminary hearing as prosecutors revealed additional details about his arrest."
He added, "Taele had several notebooks with 208 pages containing drawings and sketches of the golf course, lists of Secret Service schedules, details of individual security members and copies of Melania Trump’s schedule, prosecutors said. He had also allegedly done research in 'going off the grid.'"
Perhaps the First Lady's biggest scandal involves accusations that she was closely enmeshed with Epstein. Reporting in April, The Daily Beast went into detail into those links.
“Epstein even claimed that the first time Trump slept with his now wife was on his plane, dubbed the Lolita Express,” The Daily Beast wrote at the time. “In her statement, Melania said she had never been on his plane.”
The report continued, “The pedophile spoke extensively with author Michael Wolff in August 2017 for his bestseller ‘Fire and Fury,’ two years before he was found dead in his New York jail cell in 2019. Authorities say he died by suicide.”
In her spontaneous and surprise press conference that same month, Melania Trump denied everything.
"Be cautious about what you believe," Melania Trump said at the time. "These images and stories are completely false. I am not a witness or a named witness in connection with any of Epstein's crimes. My name has never appeared in court documents, [unintelligible] victim's statements, or FBI interviews surrounding the Epstein matter."
The ongoing fallout over her alleged ties to Epstein, combined with a stark security breach at the golf club, ensures that Melania Trump remains at the epicenter of intense national scrutiny.
