New Hampshire Democrats 'can’t get enough' of Chris Christie’s attacks on Trump: report

Many Democratic pundits and Never Trump conservatives have been complaining that most of Donald Trump's rivals in the 2024 GOP presidential primary have been offering only mild criticism of the former president. But former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) have been more vehement in their attacks.
Hurd recently told CNN that if primary frontrunner Trump becomes the nominee, he won't support him. Christie's scathing anti-Trump comments, however, have been drawing more attention.
In an article published by Politico on September 4, reporters Mia McCarthy and Lisa Kashinsky emphasize that Christie's anti-Trump message is a hit among Democratic voters.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
"Whereas Democrats once considered him a bully, a threat and an opportunistic apologist for Donald Trump," the Politico reporters explain, "they now can't get enough of his new Trump-bashing persona."
Joe Daly, a New Hampshire-based Democratic voter, told Politico that Christie is "probably the only Republican I would vote for" and described him as the GOP's "most reasonable, rational alternative to crazy Donald Trump."
Debra Newell, another Democratic voter in New Hampshire, said of a Christie townhall held in her state in July, "His whole presentation was awesome…. (But) I really wish he had stood up to Trump a long time ago."
