'Thanks MTG': Biden ad uses GOP rep’s speech to make 'excellent' case for reelecting him

A new ad for President Joe Biden's 2024 reelection campaign features the last person one would expect to see in a Biden ad: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia).
The clever ad shows a clip of the far-right conspiracy theorist attacking Biden for wanting to expand President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal and President Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society. And the Biden campaign's response, in essence, is: Yes, that's exactly what the president is doing.
The ad shows Greene saying, "Joe Biden had the largest public investment in social infrastructure and environmental programs that is actually finishing what FDR started that LBJ expanded on, and Joe Biden is attempting to complete. Programs to address education, medical care, urban problems, rural poverty, transportation, Medicare, Medicaid, labor unions. And he still is working on it."

Greene was attacking Biden during that speech, which she made at a Turning Point USA event. But the ad's message is that she unintentionally laid out a solid case for reelecting him in 2024.
The ad is receiving plenty of responses on Twitter. Former Sen. Doug Jones (D-Alabama), on July 18, tweeted, "Never thought in my wildest dreams I would say this - but thank you MTG! You nailed it!"
Biden himself posted, "I approve this message."
Law professor and former federal prosecutor Joyce White Vance, often featured as a legal analyst on MSNBC, said of the ad, "Democrats hit their messaging stride!"

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-California), tweeted, "Well done, Mr. President." And California Gov. Gavin Newsom had a one-word response to the ad: "This."
Biden supporter Michael Rudolph wrote, "Well done. Excellent. Right on spot. MTG details all the great Democrat advances for the betterment of the American people. Thanks MTG."
Democratic activist Victor Shi, who was a Biden delegate during his 2020 campaign, tweeted, "Oh DAMN. Dark Brandon rises AGAIN. Joe Biden just released an ad that uses Marjorie Taylor Greene's attempted 'attack' on him over the weekend in which she compares Biden to FDR & LBG. Using Republicans' words against them is exactly how it's done. More of this!"
