'For what?': Anthony Fauci lambasts Elon Musk's tweet reiterating his call for the doctor's prosecution

Dr. Anthony Fauci, former chief medical advisor to the President of the United States, responded to Twitter CEO Elon Musk's assertion the doctor should be prosecuted, during an interview with CNN's Jim Acosta.
@Acyn tweeted, "Acosta: You've been vilified on the far right. We've seen Elon Musk tweet that his pronouns are prosecute Fauci. Fauci: There's no response to that craziness. Prosecute me for what? What are they talking about?"
Fauci was also responding to Acosta's mentioning of how other GOPers have "talked about prosecuting and arresting" the doctor, and asking him, "What has that been like for your family?"

The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the Republicans challenging him are "going off the deep end," noting the impact consistent death threats have on his family.
He continued, "every time somebody gets up and spouts some nonsense that's disinformation, misinformation and outright lies, somebody somewhere decides they want to do harm to me or my family."
Fauci asserted the right-wing "insanity" forces his family to "have protection," which is "really unfortunate."
The longtime physician also responded to Musk's call for his prosecution in January, during an appearance on Fox News' "Your World".
Host Neil Cavuto asked Fauci his thoughts around "the world's richest man, or second richest now, going after" him.
"I have no idea what he’s talking about, Neil," Fauci said. "I wish I did. I’m clueless about what he’s referring to."
