'New profile pic': Ex-Georgia GOP chair brags about mugshot after surrendering at Atlanta jail

Although former President Donald Trump doesn't plan to surrender in Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis' case until this Thursday, August 24, some of his co-defendants have already surrendered — including attorney John C. Eastman and bail bondsman Scott Hall on August 22 and former Georgia GOP Chair David Shafer on August 23.
Shafer, The Independent reports, is going out of his way to publicize his surrender at the Fulton County Jail.
The Independent reports, "Online jail records reveal that he was arrested on Wednesday, 23 August by Fulton County Sheriff's Office and booked into Fulton County Jail before being released on bond later. Following his arrest, he shared his booking photo on X, formerly known as Twitter."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
On X, a smiling Shafer said of his mugshot, "Good morning! #NewProfilePicture."
Willis' case marks Trump's fourth criminal indictment and lists 18 Trump allies as co-defendants, including Shafer, Hall and Eastman. Others listed in the indictment include former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and pro-Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis.
