Ukraine's unlikely hero -- and 'the world's #1 Sigma male'

As Russia threatens to destroy the future of Ukraine, one unlikely hero has stepped up to the plate to defend his country. The Bulwark's Tim Miller is highlighting his unwavering courage and bravery in the midst of adversity.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the comedian-turned-wartime-president, is standing tall in the face of danger and being the leader his country needs during this difficult time. During the latest segment of The Bulwark's "Not My Party" podcast on SnapChat, Zelensky was commended for his leadership. Miller also shared a video clip that featured Zelensky who is being described as "the world's #1 Sigma male."
"That kind of leader becomes a beacon of light that inspires nations and rallies other ordinary people into battle, a symbol who stays with us forever," This is “Not My Party,” brought to you by The Bulwark."

During the podcast, Miller explained why he wanted to discuss Zelensky. "So, this week I wanted to focus on a political actor who deserves our admiration," he wrote. "There was no reason to expect that Volodymyr Zelensky would morph into a hero. He was a comedian, a reality-show contestant, the voice of Paddington Bear, for God’s sakes."
Miller offered a comparison of Zelensky to other world leaders as he highlighted how the Ukrainian president stands out. After a Trump impersonator re-enacted his discussion with Zelensky asking for dirt on President Joe Biden, Miller noted how the Ukrainian president has responded to Russian President Vladamir Putin.
He said, "And why the Russian tyrant expected him to fold when he advanced. But in both cases, it was Zelensky who held firm. Just last year in a similar situation, the cowardly Afghanistan president stuffed bags full of cash and fled before the Taliban took over.
"Zelensky could have made a similar calculation," Miller added. "In fact, it’s been reported that America offered to help him flee to exile, since he’s said to be number one on Russia’s kill list. His storied response to that offer will echo through the ages: “I need ammunition, not a ride.” In the ensuing days, he continued inspiring his countrymen and taunting the Russians, posting videos in very recognizable locations, almost as if to say, “Come and get me, mother****ers.”
Miller believes Zelensky is the epitome of a Sigma male. "These are the actions of a true sigma male," Miller said. "That leadership has buoyed his people and garnered support from other European countries that had been reluctant to take on Russia in the past."
