When Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) attempted to patronize another lawmaker with a condescending tweet, Twitter users quickly chimed in and fired back at him.. On Friday, December 17, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) criticized Cruz and other Republican lawmakers for delaying President Joe Biden’s State Department nominees.

Swalwell tweeted, "Ted Cruz is in the minority. And most members of the minority want our ambassadors confirmed. What the hell do you call a system where ONE person can bring diplomacy to a halt?"

In response to Swalwell's criticism, Cruz tweeted, "Hush child. The adults are working.”

It didn't take long for Twitter users to chime in and remind Cruz of the time when he's made less than responsible adult decisions while "working." From fleeing the state of Texas in the middle of the bitter winter storm that left millions without power to his debacle with Sesame Street's Big Bird just weeks ago, Twitter users did not let Cruz slide.

One Twitter user wrote, "Cancun Ted will work from early in the morning until late in the evening. He will make many calls and have many meetings."

Some Twitter users even mentioned Cruz's Dr. Suess stunt on the Senate floor.
