Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) recently took aim at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) over his support of a bipartisan deal that opened the door for Congress to raise the United States' debt ceiling.

On Wednesday, December 14, the Georgia lawmaker took to Twitter to lash out at the top-ranking Republican lawmaker describing him as President Joe Biden's "bitch."

"The House of Representatives is voting after midnight tonight because @LeaderMcConnell allowed Democrats to bi-pass the filibuster and ram through the debt ceiling increase to $31.5 TRILLION," she tweeted. "Mitch is Biden's bitch."

Greene's remarks follow McConnell's decision to side with Senate Democrats on raising the debt ceiling or legislative limit for the debt amount the U.S. Treasury Department can handle in order to make payments on governmental debt that has already been incurred. According to Newsweek, Congressional leaders explained the reason for their decision insisting that "increasing the debt ceiling was needed to allow the U.S. to meet its financial obligations until 2023 and avoid a disastrous federal default which would devastate the domestic and world economies."

The colorful tweet has garnered lots of attention on the social media platform with over 4,000 retweets and more than 12,000 likes. Almost immediately after Greene shared the tweet, she was met with criticism. Some Twitter users slammed the lawmaker for the immature remarks while others highlighted the hypocrisy in her words.
