Gov. Greg Abbott (R) prompted backlash on Twitter after expressing opposition about the idea of annual COVID-19 vaccination requirement, reports HuffPost.

During an appearance on Fox News, Abbott expressed disapproval about President Joe Biden's call for employers with more than 100 workers to incorporate his aggressive vaccine mandate which gives employees two options: get vaccinated for COVID-19 or undergo weekly testing.

"Where does this end?" Abbott asked Fox News' hosts, Maria Bartiromo on Sunday.

"We're talking about a federal mandate for a shot. As you know, there is waning effectiveness of these shots," Abbott added. "Are people going to be required by the federal government to take a shot every single year for the rest of their lives? Americans need to come to grips with the unconstitutional overreach of the Biden administration."
