Dan Crenshaw recklessly tells Americans to rail against COVID mitigation guidelines as cases soar across the country

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) is facing backlash for his recent attempt to encourage Americans to rail against the CDC's latest mitigation recommendations as the Delta variant of COVID-19 spreads rapidly across the country.
During a recent appearance on Fox News, Crenshaw called on Americans to refuse to comply with potential "lockdowns" or "mandates" that may be incorporated in the future. Although the resurgence of COVID cases could signal that the pandemic may get worse in the coming weeks, Crenshaw appears to be encouraging Americans to dismiss additional mitigation efforts.

His latest Fox News appearance has led to heightened blowback from Twitter users who have criticized his seemingly dangerous rhetoric.

The latest comes just weeks after Crenshaw weighed in on the vaccine controversy. While he admitted that the vaccine is "safe and effective," he still accused Democratic lawmakers of politicizing and gaslighting Americans where the pandemic is concerned. However, it is important to note that members of the Republican Party have been mostly responsible
"I think we're all sick of the vaccine controversy here," Crenshaw said. "Our outlook on this should be very simple. Look, I think the vaccine is safe and effective. I also don't think you can be forced to take it. We should just really have that worldview."
He added, "And I'm really sick of the Democrats especially trying to politicize this and gaslight the American people and say, look at these Republicans bad-mouthing the vaccine. I've never badmouthed the vaccine at all, actually. But you know who has? Kamala Harris, Governor Cuomo of New York. I mean, they're all on the record. Back in October when Trump was touting this vaccine, they were on the record saying that you can't trust the FDA. So I'm getting really sick of how this has been politicized."
