A Wednesday email blast from President Donald Trump told followers their “supporter status” had been canceled, and it directed them to donate in order to restore their standing in the MAGA movement, according to Mediaite.
Complete with a subject line reading, “I’ve got a massive headache,” the email continued with a purported quote from the president himself.
“YOUR SUPPORTER STATUS HAS BEEN CANCELLED,” the fundraising email announced. A yellow button then promises a “FIANL [sic] CHANCE TO MAKE THIS RIGHT.”
“The thought of losing you makes my head hurt,” the purported Trump quote claims. “I know you would never intend to cancel your journey with the MAGA Movement and me. If you’re still with us, I need you to send me your signature to renew your MAGA Membership before the hour clock runs out.”
“Although the email claims to require only a ‘signature,’ the button redirects users to a page imploring for fiscal gifts.
Mediaite reports Trump’s fundraising schemes are under increased scrutiny in recent weeks. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that the president has deeply involved himself in his political fundraising operation. This includes personally reviewing donor lists, urging aides to seek larger contributions, and encouraging requests that can reach tens of millions of dollars, according to WSJ.
According to the report, Trump’s aggressive fundraising network has brought in more than $800 million since he returned to office little more than a year ago. The money allegedly supports projects ranging like his White House ballroom, his presidential library and political committees and initiatives tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary.
According to the WSJ several business leaders were convinced that large donations got top billing regarding White House access.
Trump’s spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez denied that allegation, however, calling Trump “the most successful fundraiser in modern political history” and insisting, “President Trump can’t be bought.”
Trump’s family wealth has exploded since his return to office, thanks to cryptocurrency schemes and other tactics, including his bid to sell exclusive Truth Social access inside information for $100K a year.
“There is no plausible defense of Trump's TruthSocial scheme,” declared National Review Senior Editor Charles Cooke. “It is flagrantly corrupt. It is impeachable. Congress should intervene. (It won't, I know.)”
