'Not very honest': Former Trump counsel resigned over another lawyer who 'thinks he knows better'

Former President Donald Trump attorney Timothy Parlatore revealed in a recent interview his former colleague and Trump lawyer Boris Epshteyn is "the reason" he stepped down.
Parlatore spoke with CNN's Paula Reid Saturday about the ways Epshteyn influenced his decision to remove himself 2024 hopeful's Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.
Former Department of Defense special counsel Ryan Goodman tweeted his reaction to the interview Saturday, writing, "Breaking and wow. Recently resigned Trump attorney-Timothy Parlatore- dishes hard on Trump attorney-Boris Epshteyn-as THE reason Parlatore left. Says Epshteyn, among other things, tried to interfere with searches for classified documents including of Bedminister. @PaulaReidCNN"

Additionally, @Acyn shared a clip of the pair's conversation, writing, "Reid: You said that Boris tried to prevent you from conducting searches. What searches?"
Reid began the segment asking Parlatore, "Infighting is certainly nothing new in Trump world. Is there any specific instance of something that he did to prevent you from properly representing your client?"
The attorney replied, "Well sure, I mean, there was — he served as kind of a, um, filter — to prevent us from getting information to the client and getting information from the client. Uh, In my opinion, he was not very honest with us or with the client on certain things. Uh, there were certain things like the searches that he had attempted to interfere with."
He continued, "And then, more recently, as we're coming down to the end of this investigation where Jack Smith and ultimately Merrick Garland is gonna make a decision as to what to do, as we put together our defense strategy, uh, to help educate Merrick Garland and to how best to handle this matter, he was preventing us from engaging in that strategy."

Reid followed up, saying, "Uh, you said that Boris tried to prevent you from conducting searches? What searches are those?"
Parlatore answered, This is the searches at, uh, [Trump National Golf Club] Bedminster, initially, uh, there was a lot of pushback from him where he didn't want us doing the search, and we had to eventually overcome him."
Reid asked, "Why didn't he want you doing the search?"
The attorney said, "I don't know. Boris is, uh, you know, he is a lawyer. He spent about 18 months at a big firm doing transactional work. And I think he just thinks based on that experience he knows better than all of us."
