'Thank you for your attention to this matter': Senator trolls Trump on his own platform

Much as he did with Twitter in his first term, President Donald Trump has made Truth Social a primary tool for communicating with the world during his second administration. One Democratic U.S. senator has taken notice and is now mimicking his style.
The New York Times reported earlier this week on Trump's use of Truth Social to announce both his airstrikes against Iranian nuclear sites and his brokering of a tenuous detente with Israel and Iran. The paper observed that "the entire world gets a view into his thoughts, gripes and whims in ways that are often reminiscent of a chronically online millennial" by watching his Truth Social postings, whereas previous presidents have conducted sensitive business mostly in private, save for carefully crafted public statements.
Many of Trump's posts on the platform are in all caps, and he is known to hurl invective and threats at both his domestic political opponents as well as at other foreign leaders. This even includes Israel, with Trump telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after his "ceasefire" announcement: "DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION." (Israel ended up dropping more bombs on Tehran.) Trump also frequently ends posts by writing: "THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER."

On Thursday, Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), who is the ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, launched an account on Truth Social — which is owned by Trump — and posted her own "truth" in Trump's style. Washington state's senior U.S. senator used her first post on the platform to attack H.R. 1 ("The One Biug Beautiful Bill Act"), which is Trump's first major domestic policy push of his second term.
"GOP'S BIG UGLY BILL KICKS PEOPLE OFF HEALTH CARE AND FOOD ASSISTANCE. HOSPITALS WILL CLOSE. KIDS WITH DISABILITIES WILL LOSE CAREGIVERS. BIG WINNERS? BILLIONAIRES. TOTAL FRAUD! IT POLLS LIKE GARBAGE, BECAUSE IT IS," she wrote. "GOP SHOULD DROP IT!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER."
Murray then posted to her official X account that she was "going to try and communicate with my Republican colleagues in a new way," and added a screenshot of her Truth Social post. The post was a hit with Murray's followers, garnering thousands of retweets and more than 600,000 views as of Thursday evening.
"Really lands it with the THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER," tweeted Chris Meagher, who was a Department of Defense communications staffer in former President Joe Biden's administration.
