Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) may be moving closer toward a presidential bid for 2024 but MSNBC News' Mehdi Hasan is pointing out the one issue that may be problematic for him, according to HuffPost.

During a recent MSNBC segment, Hasan weighed in on the latest developments involving speculation around DeSantis' possible bid for president.

While DeSantis is seen as a viable competitor against former President Donald Trump, Hasan insists the governor's personality may be a big problem for a presidential campaign.

Hasan described DeSantis' international introduction as "disastrous" as he insisted that the Republican governor was deeply underwhelming when he engaged with world business leaders.

The MSNBC host also pointed to DeSantis' interaction with Japanese leaders. When asked about the former president and poll projections for 2024, DeSantis offered a "bizarre head-bobbing response," according to Hasan. Answering the leaders' question, DeSantis said, "I'm not a candidate, so we'll see if and when that changes."

Hasan noted, “That went viral for all the wrong reasons."

He also pointed out that DeSantis' awkwardness had to be managed by his advisors. Per the news outlet, "DeSantis was reminded to make eye contact and shake hands when visiting Iowa."

"That’s what you tell children ― not a presidential candidate," Hasan said, adding, "He’s trying so hard to be a real boy. And yet DeSantis might just be on the verge of becoming the most meme-able presidential candidate we’ve seen yet."
