Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) did not mince words in his latest rebuke of Republican lawmakers as they continue their attempts to support former President Donald Trump amid the Manhattan District Attorney office's investigation.

He also offered receipts to support his arguments. Speaking from the House floor, Swalwell weighed in with his concerns about the latest school shooting that took place in Nashville, Tenn. this week. Although several lives were lost during the deadly shooting, Swalwell criticized Republican lawmakers for failing to properly prioritize initiatives.

“Three little babies died this week at a school in Nashville," Swalwell said. "No other committee in Congress has jurisdiction to do something about that except this committee … [GOP] showed up, the first hearing after Nashville, and they’re fighting for Donald Trump.”

Swalwell's latest remarks follow his fiery remarks about Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and the Republican lawmakers spearheading the so-called “weaponization of government” subcommittee.

On Wednesday, March 29, the California lawmaker also provided a number of visual examples of Republican lawmakers' focus as he took aim at the House Judiciary GOP's Twitter account managed by Jordan.

Swalwell also offered a critical assessment of the open letter Jordan co-authored pushing back against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into the former president.

The Democratic lawmaker began with mocking remarks about Trump's previous Truth Social rant. Last week, the former president took to his social media platform and threatened “potential death and destruction” in the event an indictment is handed down from Bragg's office.

“Mr. Jordan said he would need his glasses. He was looking the other way,” said Swalwell, adding, “I’m going to leave this up here in probably 200 font so Mr. Jordan doesn’t need his glasses to read it.”

He also slammed Republican lawmakers for their support of other controversial topics including rapper Kanye West's remarks lauding Adolph Hitler and their support of Republicans who have encouraged negative behavior toward law enforcement.

According to Swalwell, “We went from ‘backing the blue’ to ‘backing the coup.'”
