'Dumpster sludge': Fox News host burned after declaring he 'can tell' if people are 'illegal'

Fox News anchor Jesse Watters on Tuesday oozed xenophobic epithets after New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) blasted the GOP and President Joe Biden for failing to fix the United States' beleaguered immigration apparatus.
"It is not about the asylum-seekers and migrants. All of us came from somewhere to pursue the American dream," Adams said at a press conference about public transit. "It is the irresponsibility of the Republican Party in Washington for refusing to do real immigration reform, and it's the irresponsibility of the White House for not addressing this problem."
Responding to Adams' remarks, Watters exploded.

"The mayor here is complaining about a couple thousand? With more resources than any other city in the entire country? That's ridiculous!" the right-wing anchor exclaimed, recalling that he "saw on the way into work a — illegal immigration family digging through the trash looking for recyclables."
Jessica Tarlov, a co-host of The Five, immediately asked the most obvious question.
"How did you know they were illegal?" she wondered aloud.
"You can tell," Watters replied.
"Jesse...," Tarlov sighed disapprovingly.
Watters was undeterred.
"I can tell," he continued. "I'm a city guy and you don't want me to get into it, but I can tell, and it is the saddest thing to see because they're not able to work here. They came to work, but they're not able to work here. And the point is this: you have to be able to choose the people that come into the country based on needs. If you need this type of person, you need this to put, bring them in. But to just say, 'yeah, come everybody in,' and then, oops, you know, now people are looking for, you know, a five-cent bottle, that's not right, and you can't blame the guy down in Texas for that. Joe Biden is the common denominator."
The internet wasted no time firing back.
NBC News reporter Ben Collins: "Now I saw a family desperately seeking out money for food in the trash and my first thought was, 'I bet I can make this a racist segment on my TV show.'"
Keeblr Elf Destroyer: "Any decent person would ask them if they need help, not berate them on national TV."
Bizzle: "Is there a more smug, punchable douchebag face on TV?"
Agolf Twitler Slayer: "Jesse might be a racist POS!"
Jamie G.: "May karma find him sooner rather than later."
Lorelie: "Not prejudiced at all."
Geoff #DavosSafe: "He's auditioning for Tucker’s old spot - turning up the racism and xenophobia."
Cindi Borowski: "Someone's angling for Tucker's spot. He is such a creep."
Maureen Galligan: "Jesse is dumpster sludge so he knows his trash."
