New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) made it clear that he was not pleased with the behavior of Republicans and undecided voters at CNN's Town Hall event with former President Donald Trump.

During a recent appearance on MSNBC, Sununu spoke with network host Jen Psaki. His remarks were in response to her questions about the crowd.

“These are people in the audience from New Hampshire, Republicans in New Hampshire, undeclared voters in that room – I was curious just what your reaction was when they started laughing?” Psaki asked Sununu.

The Republican governor did not mince words with his response.

“It was embarrassing,” Sununu insisted.

Although Sununu was aware that the majority of the crowd consisted of Trump supporters, he admitted that he still was not pleased with the mocking reactions and laughter when the former president criticized his sexual abuse accuser E. Jean Carroll.

“I wasn’t surprised to hear the support but when you’re talking about a serious issue like that and laughter and mocking and all that, it’s completely inappropriate, without a doubt,” the governor said.

He added, “It doesn’t shine a positive light on New Hampshire. But again, I understand what the audience makeup was.”

Sununu also went a step further to suggest that it seems the crowd might have consisted of long-time supporters of Trump who may have voted for him in both 2016 and 2020.

“Maybe they’re undeclared voters but I believe every single one of them had voted for Trump at some point,” he said. “So no one should have been surprised to hear the support but again, on that issue, it was... I would call it embarrassing.”
