'Causing great harm': AOC nudges Dianne Feinstein to 'consider' resigning

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is now echoing calls for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) to resign amid her ongoing health complications and absence from the Senate.
According to CNN, the New York lawmaker took to the new social media platform Bluesky to weigh in on the 89-year-old's status saying that she “should retire. I think criticisms of that stance as ‘anti-feminist’ are a farce.”
Feinstein, who has been absent from the Senate recovering from a bout with shingles since sometime in March, is facing mounting calls to step down from her role. Now, Ocasio-Cortez is also speaking out with her concerns.

“Her refusal to either retire or show up is causing great harm to the judiciary - precisely where repro rights are getting stripped. That failure means now in this precious window Dems can only pass GOP- approved nominees,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
Ocasio-Cortez's remarks come just weeks after a previous statement that she made back in April. At the time, the lawmaker spoke with CNN and touched upon Feinstein’s suspected deteriorating health.
“I think what we’re seeing is really concerning, and I think whenever a member’s health and ability to serve us brought into the spotlight, it’s very unfortunate, it’s very sad,” she said.
“But I do think that what is happening right now, and the impact that the continued ability to serve is having on our ability to fill the courts, the impact that this is having on people’s access to abortion care, I think this is something that is — it is unfortunately something that I think it is appropriate to consider,” Ocasio-Cortez added.
