A political action committee has put seven figures behind a campaign to call out Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz for his rumored ties to New Jersey.

According to The Hill, End Citizens United's $2 million advertisement is scheduled to air August 2 - 13 on television broadcasts, multiple cable networks, and streaming platforms in the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg, Penn. areas.

In the political ad, titled “Fuggedaboutit,” Oz —who is mockingly called "Jersey Oz— is being accused of "taking money from the pharmaceutical industry," the news outlet reports.

In a statement to The Hill, Tiffany Muller, president of the political action committee, offered details about the campaign. “Mehmet Oz is as New Jersey as listening to Bruce Springsteen while driving on the parkway to go down to the shore. That’s exactly why he’s out-of-touch with hardworking Pennsylvanians,” Muller said in her statement.

The End Citizen's United ad is the latest to air attacking Oz. A number of other Democrats, including Pennsylvania's Democratic Senate nominee John Fetterman, have aimed to portray the New Jersey-born doctor as a carpetbagger.

Per The Hill, Fetterman has repeatedly mocked Oz over the issue and even flew an airplane banner along the beaches in South Beach. The banner read, “'HEY DR. OZ, WELCOME HOME TO NJ! ❤ JOHN' and enlisting the help of former 'Jersey Shore' cast member Nicole 'Snooki' LaValle.'"

However, Oz's campaign team has released a statement criticizing Fetterman's political tactics.

“Dr. Oz is busy criss-crossing the commonwealth and meeting with voters hearing how crime and inflation is impacting their lives, while John Fetterman is sitting behind his computer screen from his basement bunker refusing to meet with Pennsylvanians,” said Brittany Yanick, a spokesperson for the Oz campaign.

While the upcoming Pennsylvania Senate race is expected to be close, the RealClearPolitics polling average still projects Fetterman leading by approximately 8.7 points.
