Twitter clobbers abortion rights nemesis Marsha Blackburn for kvetching about personal privacy

Less than 48 hours after the leak of a United States Supreme Court majority opinion reversing Roe versus Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania versus Casey, a right-wing congressional lawmaker is bellyaching about privacy concerns. Roe was decided in 1973 on the basis of constitutional privacy.
On Wednesday afternoon, anti-abortion Senator Marsha Blackburn – the Tennessee Republican who in 2010 earned a spot on the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW)'s "most corrupt list" – shared her disdain for COVID-19 contact tracing on cell phones.
The program was introduced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during the peak of the pandemic (when Donald Trump was president) as a means of anonymously tracking individuals' exposure to the coronavirus. Alerts would be sent to subscribed users –who could opt out – notifying them that they may be at risk of contracting SARS-COV-2, based on their proximity to known infected people. It was a handy tool in the days before vaccines were widely available, especially in densely-populated urban areas like New York City. The feature's availability continued into President Joe Biden's administration as inoculations increased and new variants emerged.
But Blackburn, as she so often does, grossly distorted reality and inculpated Biden in a non-existent plot to engineer a mass invasion of Americans' privacy.
"Biden’s CDC tracked millions of phones to monitor how Americans were following their COVID mandates," wrote Blackburn. "This is a blatant invasion of privacy, and it seems to be an unfortunate reoccurring theme with this administration."

Another idiotic, irresponsible and ignorant tweet. Blackburn's hypocrisy, meanwhile, stemmed from two posts she made a few hours prior in which she carped about how the leaked Supreme Court document prevented the Justices from deliberating – in secret.
"Let the Supreme Court do their job, and let them do it without an activist working to micromanage the outcome," Blackburn said.

"I have no doubt that the Chief Justice [John Roberts] will work to root out the radical activist that betrayed the sacred tradition of the court. The leaker must be immediately removed from their position and exiled from the legal community," Blackburn whinged before dawn.

Users were not fooled. Blackburn's sanctimoniousness is part of an established pattern of behavior.

Moreover, on Tuesday, night, Blackburn also accused Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) of "attempting to silence, threaten and intimidate the Supreme Court."
Not only is that false, but it is precisely what conservatives are working tirelessly to do to women throughout this country.
