Watch: Matt Gaetz slapped with epic reality check after echoing Trump's voter fraud claims

When Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) decided to regurgitate former President Donald Trump's ongoing lie about the 2020 presidential election, he received an unexpected reality check. Footage of the seemingly awkward exchange has gone viral on social media.
On Friday, March 4, the Republican lawmaker appeared on Northwest Florida's WEAR-TV where he conducted an interview with news anchor Bob Solarski. During the interview, Gaetz complained about widespread voter fraud as he highlighted Trump's baseless claim of stolen votes.
Solarski quickly fired back to question Gaetz's judgment. “So, you’re still maintaining the 2020 election was stolen? Are we still going with that?” Solarski asked Gaetz.
Not deterred, Gaetz doubled down on his stance although Trump obviously lost both the Electoral College vote and the popular vote. “Listen, I believe that Donald Trump won the 2020 election. I believe that he won the Electoral College,” Gaetz claimed.
The news anchor quickly fired back with sharp criticism of Gaetz's false claim. Solarski countered, “You can’t say that without saying there was a gigantic conspiracy across this country and supervisors and election offices to make this happen and we haven’t still seen any evidence that proves that.”

Footage of the conversation has gone viral as many Twitter users have commended Solarski for standing up to Gaetz.
