Late night host Jimmy Kimmel may have finally answered one big question about former President Donald Trump that's gone unanswered for years.

When Trump checked into Walter Reed Medicsl Centrr back in 2019, he never disclosed his reason for the hospital event. However, former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham's new book, titled “I'll Take Your Questions Now," appears to connect the dots.

Back in 2019, there was speculation of Trump having health problems, but Grisham seems to have confirmed that the former president's hospital stay at Walter Reed was for a colonoscopy.

According to Grisham's book, the former president refused anesthesia for the procedure because he did not want to temporarily transfer power to former Vice President Mike Pence. Trump also wanted to keep a lid on the procedure so he wouldn't become a target for jokes on lat-night television, reports HuffPost.

Kimmel may not have had the opportunity to crack jokes about the former president back then, but he quickly jumped in to share his reaction this time.

"I have to say, it gives me a lot of satisfaction as a late-night talk-show host to know that he opted to stay awake while they augured his innards with a sewer snake specifically because he didn't want us making fun of him," Kimmel said.

The late night host also took a jab at Trump highlighting how awkward the American people were throughout Trump. With Grisham's account, Kimmel decided to make up for the time.

"He gave us a colonoscopy for like four years," Kimmel said. "It's time we gave one back."
