The Pentagon is on lockdown following shots fired at the Pentagon Transit Center. On Tuesday, August 3, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency tweeted brief details about the lockdown as they requested the public stay away from the area until further notice, according to CNN.

"The Pentagon currently is on lockdown due to an incident at the Pentagon Transit Center. We are asking the public to please avoid the area. More information will be forthcoming," tweeted the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, which guards the Pentagon.
