Allies and former aides of President Donald Trump have joined the war on critical race theory.

According to Politico, devout members of Trumpworld have dumped a substantial amount of money into the effort as they believe it could cause enough backlash to help them regain control of Congress.

In addition to the financial contributions, they have also began working with Congressional members to block the military from moving forward with plans for diversity training. Efforts are also being made to withhold federal funding for schools that choose to incorporate education on race theory.

In a recent interview, Trump's former adviser Steve Bannon discussed the fight against critical race theory and how he believes it could be beneficial for their party.

"This is the Tea Party to the 10th power," Bannon said. "This isn't Q, this is mainstream suburban moms — and a lot of these people aren't Trump voters."

Bannon went on to express confidence about critical race theory being a political driving force for Republicans in 2022.

"I look at this and say, 'Hey, this is how we are going to win.' I see 50 [House Republican] seats in 2022. Keep this up," Bannon said. "I think you're going to see a lot more emphasis from Trump on it and DeSantis and others. People who are serious in 2024 and beyond are going to focus on it."
