Watch: Brutal supercut exposes Republicans who pushed back against Trump — before falling back in line

A new supercut leveled an attack at Republican lawmakers who condemned former President Donald Trump's actions amid the U.S. Capitol riots and then pivoted to embrace him.
According to The Huff Post, on Tuesday, May 4, the montage was featured on CNN's "New Day." The publication reports that prominent Trump allies including former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, all criticizing the former disgraced president for his rhetoric and actions.
However, that did not last long because they ultimately joined the Republicans who defended the former president's disturbing actions. The montage then shifts to clips of those same politicians retreating back into Trump's corner.
"Lies are clearly good politics in the current GOP, but it makes you wonder as you look at a lot of these folks there that we just heard from," CNN anchor Brianna Keilar said after airing the supercut.
"As they're looking for a political future, it's in the party of what?"
