'How dare you': Democrat educates GOP lawmaker who claimed BLM 'doesn't like the old fashioned family'

Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands) did not mince words when she fired back at Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wisc.) for his baseless claims about Black Lives Matter.
On Wednesday, members of the House gathered to discuss the COVID relief bill as Republican lawmakers largely argued against bill, reports Mediaite. During their debate, Grothman went over a number of grievances as he expressed concern about "the increase in the earned income tax credit for single people," which he believes is a "marriage penalty."
Grothman went on to explain why he made the tax credit remarks as he mentioned the "strength that Black Lives Matter had in this last election."
"I know it's a group that it doesn't like the old-fashioned family," he claimed.
Here's the full quote:
"First, one of the things that haven't been mentioned, the increased in the earned income tax credit for single people has a marriage penalty in it. I bring it up because I know the strength that Black Lives Matter had in this last election. I know it's a group that doesn't like the old-fashioned family. Disturbed that we have another program here in which we're increasing the marriage penalty.
He continued, "Second thing, we have loan forgiveness on farms based on ethnicity. Okay. Some people are going to get forgiveness. Some people aren't. I think that's incredibly divisive. I think we started out with a divisive inaugural speech right off the bat. And to go down this route is only going to create divisiveness in America."

The remarks quickly garnered opposition from Plaskett, who fired back in defense of Black Lives Matter. The Virgin Islands delegate criticized Grothman as she offered facts about the history of Black families.
"How dare you!" Plaskett said when she rose to spoke. "How dare do you say Black Lives Matter, Black people do not understand old-fashioned family?"
"We have been able to keep our families alive for over 400 years," she continued, "and the assault on our families could not have black lives or black families."

She added, "That is outrageous and that should be stricken down."
As Plaskett concluded, she received a round of applause from Democratic lawmakers.
