In a series of tweets on Sunday morning, the granddaughter of Italian strongman Benito Mussolini lashed out at actor Jim Carrey over a Twitter post about fascism which led to her later coming to the defense of President Donald Trump.

On Saturday, the comedian — who is also known for his blunt artwork — posted an illustraion he made of the Mussolini and his mistress Claretta hanging from their heels after he was deposed following World War II, with the caption: “If you’re wondering what fascism leads to, just ask Benito Mussolini and his mistress Claretta.

This apparently infuriated his granddaughter Alessandra Mussolini — now an Italian politician — who lashed out at Carrey on Twitter with a series of tweets about American atrocities.

She later tweeted at Trump — tagging him in the post — writing, “President @realDonaldTrump doesn’t have to worry about poor @JimCarrey politica attacks; his drawings are only dirty paper.”
