John Oliver nailed the poignancy and irony of our Thanksgiving celebration on his show Sunday night by neatly linking it with the fearful response of many Americans to the Syrian refugee crisis.
He said, "There was only one time in American history when the fear of refugees wiping everyone out did actually come true, and we’ll all be sitting around a table celebrating it on Thursday.”
