WATCH: Jon Stewart Makes Hay Out of Ridiculous Texas-Florida Brawl in the House
The newly Republican-controlled Senate is silly enough, with its resolve to recognize that climate change is real, although humans don't cause it, but the real action is still over at the House. That's where the real crazy lives.
Jon Stewart showed clips Wednesday night of a spat between Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings who said flat out that he thinks "Texas is crazy," Congressman Michael Burgess from Texas was deeply offended by that, and insisted on an apology, but none was forthcoming. In fact, Hastings doubled down.
Stewart marveled at how Hastings just "does not give a f*ck." He also marveled at someone from Florida calling Texas crazy. “You’re from Florida and you’re calling Texas crazy?” Stewart said. “Might as well call out Oklahoma for also having a panhandle.”
Stewart ran with the whole absurdity of a Texas v. Florida showdown, mentioning a battle between George Zimmerman and Leatherface from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
It all provides a wonderful example of our government in action, as the House voted, for the umpteenth time, to repeal Obamacare, a law that has helped millions.
