'Very Likely' White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders 'Will Not Stay Through the Year': Ex-Trump Campaign Manager

Corey Lewandowski noted it can be very difficult to defend the president “from behind that podium.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders will not remain “behind the podium” for White House briefings after the November midterm elections, according to former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewnadowski.

“Sarah Huckabee Sanders will not stay through the year,” Lewandowski said. “I’d say that’s very likely.”

Lewandowski noted it can be very difficult to defend the president “from behind that podium.”

The former Trump campaign manager predicted White House chief of staff John Kelly will remain in the White House, despite speculation to the contrary.

“John Kelly stays as long as John Kelly wants,” Lewandowski said Tuesday. “That’s a clear directive from the president.”

Lewandowski told Newsmax chief political columnist John Gizzi “the edict has come down” from Trump that “if you want to stay on for the remainder of the term—17 or 18 months, then stay. But if you don’t want to, then leave now.”
