President Donald Trump touted Sunday what he called major achievements during the first six months of his presidency, including ending “numerous wars,” reviving the economy, securing the border, cutting taxes, and restoring America’s global prestige.
Trump added that the country was "dead" a year ago, before he took office.
“Wow, time flies! Today is that Sixth Month Anniversary of my Second Term. Importantly, it’s being hailed as one of the most consequential periods of any President … One year ago our Country was DEAD … Today the USA is the ‘hottest’ and most respected Country anywhere in the World. Happy Anniversary!!!” he wrote on his Truth Social platform Sunday morning.

Trump's remarks generated strong reactions from his critics and political analysts.
Democratic strategist Mike Nellis wrote on the social platform X: "Six months in and Donald Trump hasn't done jack s--- on the biggest promise of his campaign—lowering grocery and housing prices. Everything’s more expensive because of the tariffs. He promised to bring them down on day one. He lied."
Film producer David Grover wrote: "It may very well become the 'hottest' as renewable energy is de-emphasized and we are back to “drill-baby-drill”! (even though the US has been a net exporter of petroleum since 2020)."
Project management professional Laurence Boorstein said on X: "'The proportion saying America will have an overall positive influence on world affairs has fallen in 26 out of 29 countries over the last six months. Today, almost two in five (46% on average across the 29 countries) say the US will have a positive influence, down from 59% who said the same in Sept/Oct 2024, prior to the presidential election.' America’s reputation drops across the world, Ipsos, Apr 17, 2025."

The X account "Republicans against Trump" wrote: "Trump marks six months of his 'presidency' by quoting himself, claiming the U.S. is now the 'hottest' and 'most respected' country in the world. (Fact check: Utterly false.)"
"Six months into the 2nd season of the Trump s------- & the prices he promised to lower are higher, the war he promised to end on day one is still raging & and the Epstein files he promised to declassify either don’t exist, were created by Obama, or say nothing at all. #winning," wrote Democratic influencer Joanne Carducci.
