'I was outnumbered': Trump supporter tells Fox & Friends why he thinks Harris will win NC

On Fox & Friends — the primetime morning show on the #1 most-watched cable news network — one voter flatly told a reporter visiting a North Carolina diner that he thinks former President Donald Trump will be the first Republican to lose the Tar Heel State since 2008.
The Daily Beast reported on the interaction between Fox reporter Will Cain and a voter named "George" at a diner in Concord, North Carolina. Cain first asked the customers at the diner to raise their hands if they thought Trump would take the state. Then, he asked diners to raise their hand if they thought Vice President Kamala Harris would win. George was the only Trump supporter who expressed pessimism that the ex-president would come up short in the critical battleground.
“I’m not gonna throw George under the bus here, but I’m kinda gonna throw George under the bus," Cain said.

He then pointed his microphone at George to ask him why he thought the Democratic nominee would carry his state. George then explained that he had voted himself, and that he accompanied his adult children to the polls when they went to go cast their ballots, and felt less confident each time he saw the voters assembled at polling places.
"I’ve been to the polls two or three times with my children who are first time voters—and they voted the correct way,” George said, making it clear that both he and his children were solid Trump supporters. “And every time I was there I was outnumbered 20, 30 to one and in some cases it was worse than that.”
According to the Beast, Cain then acknowledged that one major obstacle for Trump in North Carolina was the risk that self-proclaimed "Black Nazi" Mark Robinson – the Republican gubernatorial nominee — posed in dragging down Trump's numbers. And aggregated polling data on FiveThirtyEight appears to back up that theory. While Trump and Harris are polling neck-and-neck, Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein is ahead of Robinson by 17 points in the gubernatorial race.
If Harris were to win in North Carolina, she would be the first Democrat to do so in more than a decade. But the Tar Heel State has gone for Republican presidential candidates in every election since 1980, with the exception of 2008. Its voters have not been as reticent to elect Democratic governors however, with Democrat Roy Cooper winning in both 2016 and 2020, and Stein likely to win tonight.
