Trump says during rally 'nobody leaves early' as participant is seen leaving rally early

During a recent rally in North Carolina, former President Donald Trump asserted to the crowd that his rallies were entertaining enough for no one to leave early. While he said this, a participant standing behind Trump is clearly seen leaving early.
Journalist Aaron Rupar uploaded the clip of the moment to the social media platform Bluesky, in which the former president recalled how Vice President Kamala Harris said during their September 10 debate on ABC News that Trump rally attendees often got bored and left early.
“I’m going to actually do something really unusual and I’m going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump’s rallies because it’s a really interesting thing to watch,” Harris said at the time. “You will see during the course of his rallies he talks about fictional characters like Hannibal Lecter. He will talk about windmills cause cancer. And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom.”

As Trump did his best to refute her claims, one of his supporters holding a sign and standing behind him as he spoke is seen turning around, talking to several other participants, then stepping off of the bleachers and disappearing from sight.
"It's sad! We've done this for nine years. We've had the greatest rallies in the history of the world. Chancellors and prime ministers, people would tell me, they watch the rallies from Europe, everybody watches our rallies. Everybody loves our rallies. Never have an empty seat," Trump said.
"They try and demean us, like that horrible, horrible person that I debated where she said, 'and, people leave early,' nobody leaves early," Trump said as the man behind him is seen leaving early. "If I saw them leaving early, you know what I would say? 'Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much, make America great again,' and I'd leave. That way they could, but I've never had to do that, and I'm very capable of doing that, you know?"
Earlier this month, the Guardian also delved into the phenomenon of Trump supporters leaving his rallies early. The publication reported from a Trump rally in Marietta, Georgia (just outside of Atlanta) and interviewed people who left early asking them why they weren't staying until it was over. According to the Guardian, roughly three out of 10 attendees left before the former president finished his speech, which he started roughly 90 minutes behind schedule.

"Seven minutes into Trump’s address, as he recited a litany of grievances about inflation, schools, the quality of cars, cities, immigration and the prospect of a third world war, a dozen people had already walked out," wrote Guardian reporter George Chidi. "Another 50 or so left over the next 10 minutes. Four of them were thrown out."
