Watch: Conservative mercilessly mocks ex-Trump critic Ted Cruz’s 'enthusiastic' endorsement

Like Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-New York) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) went from being a scathing critic of Donald Trump to being a devoted loyalist.
Cruz gave Trump's 2024 presidential campaign a glowing endorsement after the Iowa Caucuses, which found the twice-impeached former president winning more votes than GOP primary rivals Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy combined (Ramaswamy has since dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump). And MSNBC's Joe Scarborough mocked that endorsement unmercifully during a Wednesday, January 17 broadcast of "Morning Joe."
Scarborough, a Never Trump conservative and ex-GOP congressman, slammed Cruz as a shameless flip-flopper by contrasting his 2024 Trump endorsement with clips showing all the negative things the Texas senator said about him when they were competing for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
In 2016, Cruz attacked Trump as "a pathological liar" and "a narcissist at a level I don't think this country has ever seen" as well as a "bully" who was "utterly amoral." But after the 2024 Iowa Caucuses, Cruz told Fox News, "I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president of the United States. I look forward to supporting him enthusiastically."
Scarborough commented, "Ted Cruz rightfully called him a bully, rightfully called him a sniveling coward, and then went on to endorse him — and now says he's a proud, enthusiastic endorser and supporter of Donald Trump."
Scarborough's colleague Willie Geist said of Cruz and other GOP senators who have endorsed Trump, "They're moths to a flame of power. They feel like he's the guy, and they don't want to cross him. They want to keep their jobs; they want to keep his supporters. They're so desperate to stay in Washington."
