'Epic media fail': Jon Stewart slams cable news hosts for calling 34-count Trump indictment 'underwhelming'

When a Manhattan grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump on 34 criminal counts, right-wing media outlets — from Fox News and Fox Business to Newsmax to Breitbart — immediately jumped to Trump's defense. As Trump's MAGA defenders see it, he is not only being persecuted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr., but also, by mainstream media outlets.
But comedian Jon Stewart has a totally different view of mainstream media coverage of Trump's indictment and April 4 arraignment. During a scathing, profanity-filled commentary, the host of "The Problem with Jon Stewart" on Apple TV+ lambasted mainstream media pundits who have used words like "underwhelming" to describe Bragg's case against Trump — which includes allegations of hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.
The clips Stewart showed were not from a bunch of right-wing media outlets, but mainly from CNN and MSNBC.

"Defenders of democracy find a president paying hush money to a Playboy model and an adult film star — and then cooking the books to help himself win an election— underwhelming and boring," Stewart complained. "By the way…. Did anyone think $130,000 to Stormy Daniels seems a little light?.... Epic f*****g media fail!"
Stewart slammed mainstream media pundits for having "short attention spans," sarcastically commenting, "It's just a normal indictment charging Donald J. Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records."
The host ranted, "Law is boring as s***t…. Please continue to be let down by the expectations that you mother*****s created."
