'That’s bull': Charlamagne tha God slams CNN coverage of 'fascist' Trump — to Anderson Cooper’s face

MSNBC's Joy Reid has been highly critical of the mainstream media's coverage of the New York Times' bombshell interview with former White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, who revealed that former President Donald Trump had praised Adolf Hitler and criticized U.S. military leaders for not being more like Hitler's generals in Nazi Germany.
Trump, Kelly warned, admired "fascism" as an ideology.
The interview initially received a lot of coverage. But Reid has argued that in light of how deeply disturbing Kelly's revelation was — and the fact that Trump has a chance of being elected president again — mainstream media outlets should have made it a front-page story day after day and not been so quick to move on.

Radio host Charlamagne tha God has also been quite critical of the mainstream media's coverage of Trump, telling CNN's Anderson Cooper that mainstream outlets could be doing a much better job conveying just how dangerously authoritarian Trump is.
During a Thursday night, October 24 appearance on CNN, Charlamagne slammed the mainstream media's "b******t" Trump coverage and told Cooper, "I think (Kamala Harris) should keep calling Donald Trump a fascist. And I think Americans need to keep looking at the rhetoric of Donald Trump. Because I don't know why we're even thinking about electing somebody who is talking about putting people in camps. I don't know why we want to elect somebody who's talking about mass deportation. I don't know why we've having this conversation about somebody who wants to terminate the Constitution to overthrow the results of an election. Aren't we supposed to be a patriotic country?"
Charlamagne continued, "Whenever somebody like Colin Kaepernick takes a knee in this country, everybody talks about, 'Oh, that’s so unpatriotic.' But a guy can say he wants to terminate the Constitution to overthrow the results of an election, and nobody cares?"
Charlamagne warned that Trump has been "talking about jailing his political opponents," adding, incredulously, "That rhetoric doesn't scare people?"

Cooper defended CNN's Trump coverage, saying, "We talk about this every night."
But Charlamagne countered, "I don't think you all have enough conversations about it. I feel like I heard more conversations on this network about 'is Kamala Harris Black' than I did about Donald Trump being a fascist…. Nobody has had honest conversations about Donald Trump since 2016…. We talk about him being a threat to democracy, but we don't treat him like one."
