While shining a spotlight on the suggestion of the Trump administration’s grift and talent for scamming the markets network editors also managed to blast out a Wednesday supercut revealing the extent of President Donald Trump’s overplayed predictions for cheaper gas in time for the midterms.

“Today marks the 158th consecutive day that gas prices have been more than $4 a gallon. It's been a long time now, precisely the opposite of what Donald Trump and his team have been promising,” said MS NOW anchor Katy Tur.

“So, yes, we have a we have a temporary period of elevated energy prices, but it will not be long in the worst case. This is weeks. This is not months,” said Trump’s energy secretary Chris Wright in March.

“Rest assured to the American people, the recent increase in oil and gas prices is temporary, and this operation will result in lower gas prices in the long term,” claimed former Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt in March 10, with unwavering confidence.

“I'm optimistic that sometime between June 20th and September 20th that we can have $3 gas again,” crowed Trump’s Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent on April 15.

“Gasoline is coming down very soon and very big,” claimed Trump himself on April 15.”

“So, you think gas prices will be lower before the midterm elections?” demanded Fox News entertainer Maria Bartiromo, in response.

“I think they'll be much lower before midterm. Much lower.,” Trump assured.

“All right. We're close to the midterms 20 days away, in fact. And no, they are not cheaper,” corrected Tur. “Even if they were, though only about a third of Americans say it would make a difference.”

In whacking the Trump administration’s skewed optimism, Tur also cited a handful of unknown traders who’s made “billions with a ‘B’, betting that oil prices would drop and the stock market would spike 15 minutes before Trump mysteriously called off an Iran attack that would have escalated costs.

The trades went down around 6:50 in the morning, 15 minutes before Trump made his surprising about-face on dropping more bombs, and now Bloomberg reports analysts in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission were called off investigations of potential insider trading “because staffers were told to retract the referral” by “a senior advisor to the agency's Trump appointed chairman.”

This, said Tur, potentially shielding those insider traders from scrutiny and opened up a fresh round of allegations that the Trump administration “is either looking the other way or actively taking part in making money off foreign policy decisions.”

“At the very least, it only serves to amplify what Americans are already feeling about Donald Trump, that he's focused on enriching himself and his cronies,” said Tur.
