'A scandal that's being covered up': Trump ripped after claiming Dems 'created' Epstein files
President Donald Trump defended Attorney General Pam Bondi Saturday evening — calling her performance “FANTASTIC” — and went further to accuse former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and other Democrats of allegedly “creating” the Epstein Files, as Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporters criticize Bondi's handling of documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein.”
Trump went on to say that his critics — from former President Barack Obama, “Crooked Hillary,” Comey, Brennan, and the Biden team — were behind the Epstein documents.

“They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier that they used on me, and now my so‑called ‘friends’ are playing right into their hands," Trump added.
He continued: “Why didn’t these Radical Left Lunatics release the Epstein Files? If there was ANYTHING in there that could have hurt the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it? They haven’t even given up on the John F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King, Jr. Files.”
Trump's post led to wide-ranging commentary on social media, with many observers raising questions.
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) wrote on the social platform X: "Why would Trump all of a sudden allege the Epstein Files were written by Obama, Hillary, Comey etc? The simplest explanation is that there is something in the unreleased Epstein files that implicates Trump or people close to him. #OccamsRazor"

Political commentator Megyn Kelly wrote: "There are really only two options: 1. There’s no huge undisclosed there there on Epstein, Bondi misled on it (until she didn’t) & Trump is quick to forgive a loyal soldier for being desperate to get on TV; or 2. There is a scandal that’s being covered up & it’s at his direction."
Community activist Melanie D'Arrigo said: "Donald Trump went from 'I will release Jeffrey Epstein’s client list'… to 'please stop talking about Jeffrey Epstein’s client list that I’m obviously on, that both doesn’t exist and was also created by Obama'… in 173 days."
Politico reporter Ben Jacobs wrote: "There are lot of things going in this Trump post but it's underrated that he suggests that the Epstein Files were written by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton."
Political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen wrote: "The Epstein files are on Pam Bondi's desk right now but also they do not exist but also they do exist and were written by Obama and Hillary when Epstein died in 2019 when the president was Donald Trump."
