Jena-Lisa Jones voted for President Donald Trump in 2024, believing his much-hyped campaign promises about releasing the federal government's files on Jeffrey Epstein. A survivor herself who was abused by the deceased sex trafficker at 14, on Thursday, she ripped the administration for turning the situation into a "clown show," and said she doubts there will ever be justice.
Per a report from The Guardian, Jones appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the Shadow Sessions podcast, where she discussed her profound disappointment with Trump and his administration's handling of the Epstein files. Even after an overwhelmingly supported act of Congress, which gave her some hope that justice was close, things fell apart. She claimed in the interview that, despite the Justice Department's insistence that all of its files have been released, she has yet to see any pertaining to her own case.
“I wanted my day in court,” Jones said. “I didn’t get that, and we were so close to it, it really got ripped from us, and then after [the Epstein Transparency Act] passed, everything just went into a circus show.”
She explained further that the extensive promises from Trump and his MAGA allies led many Epstein survivors like herself to vote for him in 2024, believing that he would bring about the accountability they
“Trump ran his whole freakin’ election on the release of these freakin’ files,” she said. “And it sparked it back all up again, gave us hope, gave me hope at least. He runs his campaign on this, and he runs it really, really hard to the point that a lot of us voted for him."
It was not long after his return to the White House that Jones felt a shift.
“As soon as he gets in, we started pushing for the release of the files, and now it’s a ‘Democratic hoax,'” Jones said.
The disclosure of the files so far has led to some notable accountability overseas, including the arrest of former British Royal, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, but Jones is still holding out hope for justice at home in the U.S.
“For me now, [justice] is America taking the predators that are here in our country, yes, take them down in every country, but I would like to see some of that, that would give me a little bit more faith and that we’re doing the right thing and that we’re protecting our children," she explained.
