Watch: George Conway lays out political motivations behind Trump’s 'magical litigation tour'

A recurring theme in Donald Trump's campaign speeches and Truth Social posts is that his legal problems are not only about him — they are also, the 2024 presidential frontrunner claims, an attack on his voters and the MAGA movement. Trump insists that the four criminal indictments and variety of civil lawsuits he is facing are politically motivated, and that his supporters are being victimized along with him.
During a Wednesday morning, October 10 appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe,"
conservative attorney George Conway — one of Trump's most scathing critics on the right — stressed that the former president's "magical litigation tour" is designed to paint him as a victim and fire up his voters.
Conway told "Morning Joe" hosts Joe Scarborough (another major Never Trump conservative) and Mika Brzezinski, "There's a delay aspect to it, and there's also a fundraising aspect to it. And as Joe said, there's a narcissistic victimization aspect. But he's fighting for his life here. He's fighting for his freedom here."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
The attorney continued, "These criminal cases…. could put him in jail for the rest of his life, and probably will. That's why he's desperate to make these immunity arguments even though they're longshots — they're hail Marys at best…. He knows deep down that he's a criminal and that the law is catching up to him."
