Senior journalist Jim Acosta warned in an article published Sunday that President Donald Trump is "spiraling further into incoherency."
"This is not hyperbole. This is simply stating the obvious to anyone who wants to face facts," he wrote on his Substack, noting that Trump's apparent cognitive decline is a story that has been largely overlooked.
"When Donald Trump was running to return to the White House, much was made of President Biden’s cognitive abilities. This reporter and others, though too few sadly, tried in vain to call attention to the unhinged elephant in the room - Trump’s mental state was a much bigger story," Acosta wrote.

"Now the current occupant of the Oval Office appears to be spiraling further into incoherency," he said.
"Consider Trump’s latest excursion into the cringey realm of make believe - his Truth Social “retruth” amplifying the astonishingly nutty conspiracy theory that Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced with a clone. 'Oh stop Jim,' you say? Read for yourself," he wrote.
Acosta raised a question: if the so-called deep state really intended to replace Biden with a double, wouldn’t they choose someone younger?
The journalist said Americans are finally realizing that Trump is "not in a good place."

"Rather than being led by a boring yet competent president, America has a rapidly aging and raging Oval Office occupant who needs his own executive orders read out loud before he can sign them, much like a convalescing relative going over his last will and testament," he said.
On Saturday night, Trump was criticized for sharing a post containing a debunked conspiracy theory that former President Joe Biden died in 2020. Trump reposted a message on his Truth Social platform claiming that Biden was "executed" in 2020 and that a clone replaced him.
"There is no #JoeBiden - executed in 2020. #Biden clones doubles & robotic engineered soulless mindless entities are what you see. >#Democrats dont know the difference," read the post Trump shared.

Earlier on Saturday, it was reported that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is considering changes to Trump's daily intelligence briefing by producing a video version of the briefing designed to resemble a Fox News-style broadcast.
NBC News reported that as part of this initiative, Gabbard has been seeking input from both current and former intelligence officials on how to better align the President’s Daily Brief (PDB) with Trump’s policy priorities and personal preferences.
