During a campaign speech in New Hampshire on Friday night, former President Donald Trump mistakenly confused former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) with former UN ambassador Nikki Haley.

In one part of the speech that was tweeted by President Joe Biden's reelection campaign, Trump is seen rambling about the January 6 insurrection and Speaker Pelosi's response to the mob of Trump supporters ransacking the US Capitol.

"By the way, they never report the crowd on January 6. You know, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, you know — did you know they destroyed all of the information, all of the evidence, everything. Deleted and destroyed all of it. All of it. Because of lots of things," Trump said. "Like Nikki Haley was in charge of security. We offered her 10,000 people. Soldiers. National Guard, whatever they want. They turned it down. They don't want to talk about that."

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?

Of course, Trump's claims about Pelosi supposedly deleting evidence are false. As former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) pointed out, Trump and his attorneys have had materials collected by the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, in addition to grand jury testimony information and evidence, for months. And Pelosi and other top Democrats were captured on video during the attack asking for "active duty National Guard."

Trump's comments were widely panned by journalists, elected officials and pundits on X/Twitter. Pod Save America co-host Dan Pfeiffer noted that "If Joe Biden has done this, it would lead every newscast in the country." CNN contributor Bakari Sellers said the clip should be shown to podcaster Joe Rogan, who had previously mistaken an unhinged Trump statement as something Biden uttered and used that to argue Biden was too old to be president.

"Does he need to take the 'person man woman camera TV' test again?" Tweeted former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan, referring to a cognitive test Trump previously took. Rep. Ted Lieu (D-California) also referenced that test, tweeting "Person. Woman. Man. Camera. Nikki Haley."

YouTube host Brian Tyler Cohen tweeted "Imagine Fox News' reaction if Joe Biden did this," and then in a separate tweet opined that "This guy's brain is in the blender."
