Frontpage news and politics

After The Atlantic published a bombshell report revealing Donald Trump's former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said the ex-president sought to obtain the same dictatorial power during his administration that Adolf Hitler had, a retired Republican general is urging Kelly to do something about it.

Retired Brigadier General Steve Anderson urges Kelly to endorse Kamala Harris, according to The Daily Beast's Wednesday, October 23 report.

"I am disappointed that he hasn’t embraced Kamala Harris, same with John Bolton and Mark Esper and others that have spoken out against Trump," Anderson said on a call coordinated by the Harris-Walz campaign, the Beast notes.

Per the report, Anderson is supporting Harris in this election.

Also on the call, was retired Army Reserve Col. Kevin Carroll, who served as senior counselor to Kelly under Trump.

Carroll noted that Kelly "made every effort to stay above partisan politics," but, "As someone who worked alongside John Kelly," Carroll added, "I know he’s speaking out now only because he views this as a fundamental threat to our democracy and country."

According to anonymous White House aides who spoke to The Atlantic, the former president said, "I need the kind of generals that Hitler had. People who were totally loyal to him, that follow orders."
