'The Real Ex-Housewives of Sedition': Critics pan Marjorie Taylor Greene's Democrat-taunting video
This article has been updated to include Dr. Dre's response.
United States Congresswoman Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) became a fierce defender of Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-California) during his rocky ascension to speaker of the House last week. This was a notable evolution of their relationship, which began as contentious when Greene – who at the time was a fringe right-wing candidate – was elected in 2020.
But Greene's expanding influence over the GOP's voting base and McCarthy's conservative Republican caucus fostered a cooperation that now appears to be blossoming into a legislative allyship. Both lawmakers were endorsed by former President Donald Trump in their respective reelection campaigns in the November 2022 midterms. Trump also backed McCarthy's bid for the speakership, which McCarthy won after fifteen ballots over five grueling days.
Now, having jockeyed her way back into McCarthy's favor after she was stripped of her seats on congressional subcommittees in 2021, Greene is relishing her alignment with McCarthy's power.

On Monday, Greene tweeted a video in which she is shown gallivanting through the Capitol and embracing McCarthy as he was elected speaker.
"It’s time to begin.. and they can’t stop what’s coming," Greene wrote in a caption meant to taunt Democrats.
There were only two instances of spoken words. In the first, a man is heard stating that "she held up her phone and it said 'DT on the phone," referring to Trump. The second occurance is a recording of a reporter saying that the "defining image of the night" was "when Marjorie Taylor Greene raced down the aisle to take a selfie with Kevin McCarthy."
The slideshow ends with McCarthy holding up the speaker's gavel.

Almost immediately, Twitter exploded with mockery of Greene's self-aggrandizing montage, which was accompanied by musical riffs from Still D.R.E. by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
I hope @drdre and @SnoopDogg have something to say about your copyright infringement. It’s really gross that you appropriate Black rap culture to imply that you’re some sort of gangster… when you pal around with neo-Nazis and rant about critical race theory.
I’m sure you DO NOT have permission to use this music. There’s a zero percent chance that @drdre and @SnoopDogg want a chick who is buds with a white supremacist the likes of Nick Fuentes using their music.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA THIS IS REAL?!?!?? I AM SCREAMING LAUGHING LIKE I CANNOT BREATHE LAUGHING!!! YOU CRACK ME UP MARGE. IF THIS WERE SNL NO ONE WOULD KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. BRAVO.
do you have any idea just how ridiculous you sound
The Real Ex-Housewives of Sedition
This is the lamest ad I’ve seen in my lifetime.
Since making a 42 second video with stolen copyrighted music is the most work you have done since you brought pipe bombs to the Capitol on January 6th 2021, I am not really concerned about what is “coming”.
My money's on Dr. Dre's lawyers stopping you from infringing on his copyright.
This is embarrassing. Just utterly embarrassing. They performed all last week. And now she’s continuing the circus with this embarrassing video that she worked on all weekend. #VOTEBLUE2024 to end this embarrassment by Republicans
Dr. Dre also condemned "someone as divisive and hateful" as Greene for using his music in an interview with TMZ.
