President Donald Trump appears to be backtracking after he watched the video of the ICE agent shooting and killing a Minneapolis woman with reporters.

The New York Times conducted a two-hour interview with Trump in the Oval Office on Wednesday and during the interview, Trump attempted to show reporters that the woman, who has since been identified as Renee Nicole Good, tried to run down the agent.

“That was a vicious situation that took place,” Trump said.

The Times said that he was "apparently referring to what federal officials have said was an effort by Ms. Good to run down an ICE agent."

Reporters asked Trump whether he believed firing into a vehicle was acceptable, and he continued to claim that the ICE officer was run over by the car.

“She behaved horribly,” Trump said. “And then she ran him over. She didn’t try to run him over. She ran him over.”

The Times reporters claimed the videos on social media were "unclear."

“I’ll play the tape for you right now,” Trump proclaimed.

After watching the video, Trump appeared to backtrack.

“Well,” Trump stuttered. “I — the way I look at it … ”

He then proclaimed, “It’s a terrible scene. I think it’s horrible to watch. No, I hate to see it.”

When reporters asked Trump whether he still believed that the shooting meant ICE had gone too far, he dodged, attacking former President Joe Biden's border policies instead.

While Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have already absolved the agent who shot Good in public statements, it flies in the face of top Trump advisor, Tom Homan, who told CBS News he wouldn't make a judgment call on the video circulating. He then appeared to walk that back.
